The Egyptian (1954), Edmund Purdom, Bella Darvi with Jean Simmons, Victor Mature, Gene Tierney This segment: Scenes with Gene Tierney. This is very loosely based on The Story of Sinuhe, which does include references to Aten but was written many centuries before the 18th dynasty. Sets, costumes, and props from this film were bought and re-used by Cecil B. DeMille for The Ten Commandments. As the events in that story take place seventy years after those in The Egyptian, this re-use creates an unintended sense of continuity. The commentary track on the Ten Commandments DVD points out many of these re-uses. Only two actors, Mimi Gibson and John Carradine, and a handful of extras, appeared in both pictures. The Prince Aly Khan was a consultant during filming, he was engaged to Gene Tierney. |

Below is a report by an eyewitness to the 7th November 2006 UFO sighting at Chicago's O'Hare airport. The airport is in the Northern US and is a major international hub. original source: www.nuforc.org Chicago O'Hare UFO Report Ok I have been hesitant about talking about this, but after hearing the report on Coast to Coast AM with Mr. Noury, I cannot be silent. I work for a major airline at O'Hare, I am a taxi mechanic. I have the job responsibility of moving aircraft under there own power from gate to gate or the hangar complex for maintenance. We also accomplish the engine run-up testing needed. So I hope that does something for establishing a little credibility for my report. I am still in absolute wonder and amazement at what I saw that afternoon. Around 16:30 hours, a pilot made a comment on the radio about a circle or disc shaped object hovering over gate C-17 at the C concourse in Chicago. At first we laughed to each other and then the same pilot said again on the radio that is was about 700 feet above ground level. The day was overcast with the ceiling being reported at 1600 feet if I remember correctly. I was taxing a Boeing 777 from the International Terminal to the Company Hanger on the North side of the Airport. As we passed the C Terminal on the Alpha taxiway we observed a dark gray hazy round object hovering over O'Hare International Airport. Is was <b>...</b> |

How I deal with Verizon Tech Support

This is a video I made while on the phone with Verizon tech support the other night… wooo hoo fun fun! Update: It has over a year since I posted this video and it still gets comments fairly often. I especially like how it has gotten a lot of unhappy tech support people blasting it (but they seem to miss the larger point). If this video was about insulting or annoying tech support people, why didn't I just hurl insults at the tech support on the phone? It would have been a simple comment to make – and I bet I would have gotten a lot more belly laughs from the kids on youtube and more subs as well… Here is a bit more of a clue for people who have a problem seeing the bigger picture: The easiest way to force any corporation into changing the way it behaves is by making it a fiscal deficit to continue doing business the way they are. By keeping this rep on the phone for over 30 minutes (and the additional calls I made to customer support following), Verizon ate the phone conversation charges and the employee's time/pay. Wouldn't it have been cheaper and easier for them to just grant their 24h tech support the ability to answer simple questions (about when service would be back up and why it was down) or refund me 15 dollars for my outage instead of wasting time for both of us? I have sympathy not only for customers being given horrible service but also for the tech support people forced to deal with this company's unhappy clients. I don't blame tech support or the <b>…</b>
