George Leigh Mallory and Andrew Irvine were two English mountaineers who took part in a British expedition to Mount Everest in 1924. On the 8th June, both disappeared somewhere high on the North-East ridge during (or perhaps after completing) the final stage of their attempt to make the first ascent of the world's highest mountain, 29 years before Hillary and Norgay. The pair's last known sighting was only a few hundred metres from the summit. Mallory's ultimate fate was unknown for 75 years, until his body was finally discovered in 1999. Whether or not they reached the summit before they died remains a subject of speculation and continuing research. El 8 de junio, ambos desaparecieron a más de 8000 metros en la cara noreste de la montaña. Die Juristin des Chemieunternehmens U/North Karen Crowder beschäftigt sich mit einem Fall mit einem Streitwert von mehreren Millionen US-Dollar. Das Unternehmen wird von Kenner, Bach & Ledeen vertreten. Ein Mitarbeiter der Kanzlei namens Arthur Edens versucht nach seinem Zusammenbruch bewusst, die als hoch eingeschätzten Erfolgsaussichten des Falls zu mindern, indem er sich vor Gericht nackt auszieht. Clayton wird von dem Partner der Kanzlei Marty Bach mit der Schadensbegrenzung beauftragt. Kritiken: Susan Vahabzadeh schrieb in der Süddeutschen Zeitung vom 1. September 2007, der Film sei „ein Erbe des legendären "Drei Tage des Condor"". Clayton irre „durch New York wie einst Robert Redford" und zeige „mitreißend" „die Qual und den Schmerz, die Verzweiflung". Der Thriller komme „nie richtig in Fahrt", doch George Clooney erfülle den gespielten Charakter „mit soviel Leben", dass dies die Mängel ausgleiche. In this clip, you'll see - Miami Dolphins wrapping up their pre-game warmups, with Jason Taylor tossing a football into our section. He does this at every home game. - The Bengals coming out, with TJ Houshmandzadeh showing my camera some love after some playful ribbing. I also dig into Carson Palmer for sinking my fantasy football team (he goes on to throw several TD passes). - The first points of the game. A field goal into our endzone. The net was slow to come up. If Jay Feely had put some more oomph into it, the ball would've gone into the seats. - Palmer with one of his 3 TDs. - Halftime at the gift shop (30% off sale, so it was packed) and the cheerleaders dancing. - John Beck's first career NFL TD. - Miami losing - again - 38-25, putting a merciful end to this horrendous 1-15 season. |
