He’s got the whole world – Derek Lee Ragin
October 31st, 2008
civileso |
High resolution and stereo sound: www.youtube.com He's got the whole world (Spiritual) In this recording: Derek Lee Ragin, countertenor Moses Hogan, piano I wanted to post something out of the ordinary content of my channel. Chances of finding a score for a spiritual that has been performed at least fifty thousand different ways are virtually nil. Not to mention that the piano transcription is exclusive to this recording. So, I grabbed the only available score online that showed the basic melody (though in a different key) and filled in the piano passages with some slides. I ended up using my sons' photos, too. You can see my two little monsters towards the middle of the video.

Just deal with it if you have any musical sense. Or do me a favor and send me your own perfect transcription that fits this recording. I'd be more than happy to share it with the world. I only represent the recording with what I have. Sarah Palin hates science – Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann comment
October 31st, 2008
AntiConformist911 |
What a busy day for Sarah Palin. Besides giving a deposition on her role in troopergate (see: ethics, abuse of power), and dropping a hockey puck in St. Louis, she also managed to screw up her first policy speech. Via Think Progress: For many parents of children with disabilities, the most valuable thing of all is information. Early identification of a cognitive or other disorder, especially autism, can make a life-changing difference. Palin claimed that the amount that Congress spends on earmarks "is more than the shortfall to fully fund IDEA." She then ridiculed some of the projects — such as "fruit fly research" — saying they have little or no value: Where does a lot of that earmark money end up anyway? [...] Youve heard about some of these pet projects they really dont make a whole lot of sense and sometimes these dollars go to projects that have little or nothing to do with the public good. Things like fruit fly research in Paris, France. I kid you not. Damn those earmarks! Wasting good money on fruit fly research: [S]cientists at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine have shown that a protein called neurexin is required for..nerve cell connections to form and function correctly. The discovery, made in Drosophila fruit flies may lead to advances in understanding autism spectrum disorders, as recently, human neurexins have been identified as a genetic risk factor for autism. www.dailykos.com The New Empiricism In Politics Seed endorses ... |

gamblerstelevision Oregon Ducks at Cal Bears NCAA College Football Selection from Tricia Regan from Gamblers Television
From GamblersTelevision.com Fromour Rockstar Studio this is Tony T and now its time for College Football coverage with a lighter touch of Vegas. Its our Chick Pick Segment. We now welcome back to Gamblers Television with her Chick Pick Tricia Regan. Hello Tricia. Tricia Hi Tony and Hey everyone Tony: I understand you will be in Northern California this weekend. And you are going to take in the big game from the Pac 10 between Oregon and Cal. Tell me about those Cal fans. Tricia: Oh man, Cal has some pretty crazy fans! But theres a very large following of Oregon fans living in San Francisco. Local Ducks flock to R BAR, where Oregon Chants and quacks are not uncommon. Ill definitely be wearing green & heading to the game on the Ducks Bus! Tony: Tricia you are very brave rooting for Oregon. OK now its time for Tricias Chick Pick. Lets pick the game you are attending. The Oregon Ducks visit the Cal Golden Bears with Cal a 3-point favorite. What happens here? Tricia: Alright, I gotta say take Oregon plus the 3 points. With quarterback, Jeremiah Masoli, dominating in his last 3 games And Cals weak offensive line, playing with 3 starters out of the line-up for Saturdays matchup, the Ducks are looking good to win their 3rd straight game and hold onto 1st place in the conference. Tony: I think you are on the right side of that one. I am not too keen about Cals quarterback situation. Seems like head coach Jeff Tedford isnt either as both Kevin Riley and Nate Longshore are sharing ... |
