LEAVE HER TO HEAVEN (1945) Gene Tierney rips the screen apart as the manipulative and murderous Ellen, who'll stop at nothing to take total possession of the man she loves in the film version of Ben Ames Williams' thriller, LEAVE HER TO HEAVEN (1945). Filmed in Oscar winning Technicolor, Ellen was the most coveted role of the year and every actress in Hollywood threw her hats in the ring. However, Darryl F. Zanuck decided to go with the actress whom he later described as "The most beautiful girl I ever knew," Gene Tierney. Tierney was going through a difficult time in her personnel life during the shooting, her daughter had recently been born severely brain damaged. She dove into the part as a means of forgetting for awhile and she earned her only Oscar nomination as Best Actress, losing to Joan Crawford for MILDRED PIERCE. Mental illness would later plague Tierney's life and she said that it was why she understood Ellen so well. Rounding out the cast were romantic heart throb Cornell Wilde, lovely Jeanne Crain as the "good sister" and Darryl Hickman, who has one of the most memorable death scenes in film history. It all makes for fascinating viewing and obviously audiences thought so too. LEAVE HER TO HEAVEN opened at Christmas in 1945 and proceeded to break all box office records that year becoming the highest grossing picture in the history of 20th Century Fox up to that time. This is a video of my flight from Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood Int. Airport to Stewart Int. Airport. The flight was on a JetBlue Airways Airbus A320-232. I was seated in Row 20 Seat A. On final approach, a man toward the front of the aircraft had a panic attack and was restrained into his seat by passengers and crew. Audio of the flight attendants reaction can be heard in the video. Special thanks to the crew for an amazing job, especially during that situation. |

Man I gotta love this shit. YouTube recently changed their page for viewing videos. Comments are now an unorganized mess, The comment raitings have been removed, rating a video is now just a "thumbs up/thumbs down" crap, the page looks UGLY with it looking like a half assed loaded webpage. And the NICE think about this is you probably won't be able to read this description because it will be sandwitched at the BOTTOM of the video. And forget about seeing your Avatar on your own fucking video. Yes, YouTube sucks balls, it's been sucking balls since Google took over. And with this shit, this "improvement", it sucks even harder. Fuck you YouTube! |
